Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is the most severe form of this disorder, occurring in 1-2% of pregnancies, and is accompanied by weight loss, ketonemia, and electrolyte imbalance, and profouu volume depletion. The typical onset is between 4 and 8 weeks gestation, continuing until 14-16 weeks (Kocak I, et a!., 1999). This study was carried out in Menoufiya University Hospital. Group II: included 10 patients complaining of ernesis gravidarum. Group III: included 10 pregnant women not complaining of emesis (control group). In this study, there was a highly significant statistical difference between group I (hyperemesis gravidarum) & group III (control) regarding H.pylori culture positivity in which H. pylon was positive in 8 (80%) of 10 patients in group I and 2 (20%) of 10 patients in group III. |
