Abstract Assessment of fetal well-being has been a mean concern for the obstetrician for many centuries Overall , perinatal mortality has fallen dramatically less than the previous decade . Such decrease is attributable to complex factors, the most inportant of which is the development of specific and accurate diagnostic tests for identifecation of the fetus at risk which improved not only the mortality rate but also the morbidity (Cunningham et at, 1989). The present study was undertaken to detect changes in fetal heart rate after acoustic stimulation in diabetic and hypertensive pregnancy comapred to normal pregnancy. from the attendants to the Outpatient Clinic of Obstetric and Gecology of the Faculty of Medicine , Menoufiya UniversitS’ and Shebin El-Kom Teaching Hospital , 60 pregnant women at their 32nd week of gestation were selected and divided into 3 groups : 20 normal pregnant women served as a control group , 20 hypertensive and 20 diabetic pragnant patients. A ii patients and control group were subjected to the following: 1- Full history taken. 2- General and obstetric abdominal examinations. 3- Fasting and 2 hours postprandial blood sugar for diabetic patients. |
