Abstract
1- Fracture of the carpal scaphoid is comnEnest in males1
2-Fracture of waist is the commonest type of the scaphold fracture.
3-Most of fractures scaphoid can be treated by conservative cast spica gives good results.
4-Long thumb spica cast above elbow eliminate shearing stress across the fracture site through elimination of pronatiôn and s upination of forearm which lead to Improved rate of union and shorten immobilization tina
5-The cast removed only if radiological union ur arid no firm rules concerning the period of imnvbilizatioa.
