s study was done for evaluation of serum levels of zinc, copper and ium in some high risk neonates, zinc and copper and magnesium essential elements found in several metaHoenzymes in tissue cells and cells, and playing an important role in different activities and skin They are essential for normal growth and development.
_c deficiency commonly presents with specific skin lesions, diarrhea,
rwth failur, alopecia irritability and anorexia. The classic picture of zinc ciency is acrodermati Ii s enteropathi Ca.
Clinical findings of copper deficiency included pallor, failure to thrive, ia and normocytic hypochromic anemia. When copper mulates to high levels in the liver, it can cause hepatotoxicity and nesium is not a true trace element. It is an abundant intracellular required for many enzymatic reactions, particularly those that 1iired adenosine triphosphate. Magnesium is important in energy ducüon, cell membrane function and in protein and deoxyribonucleic
‘A) synthesis.
ia is manifested by increased neuromuscular irritability iieralized or focal seizures and specific electrocardiographic (ECG)
