Abstract
Family history of ischernic heart disease increases risk of the disease and the mechanism may include genetically determined abnormal levels of circulating apolipoproteins The aim of the present study is to detect the level of lipid profile children of parents suffering from ischemic heart disease The study group comprisei 40 children with positive family history ischemic heart disease and they were devided according to degree of relativity to the patients into three groups Group I : first degree relative had IHD ., 26 children Group Ii: Second degree relative had IHD., 11 children Group III : Both first and second degree relatives had HID children Ten control children of comparable age, sex and socioeconomic state and without family history of IHD were used The study and control groups comprised careful family history thorough clinical examination and laboratory investigations include: -
