Abstract

The main objective of this research is to determine the relationship between knitted fabric construction and garments function. The research is divided into three chapters:
Chapter one: literature review:
The chapter includes:
*Knitted fabric structures
-Fabric Structures produced on single bed -Fabric Structures produced on double bed
-Rib fabric structures
-Interlock fabric structures
-Weft Knitted fabric structures properties
-Structures modification and special weft knitted fabrics
*Textile materials
-Natural Fiber
Man made fibers:
-Regenerated fibers
-Synthetic fibers
*Functional knitted garments
General properties of functional garments Functional garments classifications

Chapter two: experimental work:
This chapter is concerned with the specifications of samples and tests carried out on fabrics specimens which have been produced during this research.
This chapter contains two sections as follows:
• First section deals with the specifications of research samples which have been produced from different types of basic knitted structure (Rib1/1-Interlock- Single pique) and different types of fiber (Polyamide-Trevira 350-micromodal).
*Second section describes the experimental tests (Physical & Mechanical Tests).
Chapter three :results & discussion
The third chapter is concerns with the results and discussion of the studied parameters:
Fabric structures, fiber type and fabric weight and it’s effect on fabric properties which are:
(Air permeability, Abrasion resistance, Elongation, Pilling resistance, Water repellency, Water absorbability, Water permeability, Water absorption percentage).
The other objective is to determine the properties of each sample and it’s adjustment to end uses of function garments. Report
