Abstract Forty three different strains of Streptomyces spp. from some cultivated and sand areas of Egyptian soils were isola-bed , and most of these showed inhibitory activities against the Gram-negative bacterium Escherichia coli , the Gram-positive bacteria : Staphylococcus aureus , Bacillus subtilis, and Mycobacterium sp. and fungi : Aspergillus fumigatus , Fusarium sp. and Verticillium agaricinurn . Only the best seven for the production of plant growth regulators (PGR) ( I A A , GA 3 and kinetin) were used for further identification, using the more classical approach as follows : No. No .
