Abstract The present thesis comprises four chapers and the contents are subdivided into, introduction, experimental as well as results and discussion. Chapter I contains a literature survey given on the Schiff base complexes with transition metal ions esp- 3+ 3+ ecially with Fe , Mn2+ and Mn . Chapter I1 contains the experimental details for the preparationof the solid ligands and complexes, purification of solvent are given. The apparatus used and working procedure are as well described. Chapter I11 contains the results of the study on the Schiff base complexes with its discussion, it is subdivided into.four parts. In part I, the stoichiometry of ~ea~nd + Mn2+ complexes in solution is studied by conductometric measurements. The results showed the formation of 1:l and 2:l (metal : ligand) with all ligands except the ligands ( a and g) which form 1:l complexes. Part 11, I11 and IV 3+ contain the results with the solid complexes with Fe , Mn2+ and Mn3+ respectively. In these parts the mode of chelation of organic ligands and the mechanism of thermal. |
