The pol.arograms of t h e compounds of s e r i e s ( I ) , a t t h e d r o p p i n g m e r c u r y e l e c t r o d e , i n B r i t t o n - R o b i n s o n b u f f e r sol.utions of pH (2-11) c o n t a i n i n g 40% (by volume) e t h a n o l . , i n d i c a t e d t h a t a l l t h e depol.arizers d e p r i v e d o f p-NO 2 d e r i v a t i v e h a v e t h e s ame pol.arographic b e h a v i o u r , s i n c e t h e y get,reduced t h r o u g h two r e d u c t i o n waves w i t h i n t h e e n t i r e pH r a n g e ( 2 - 1 1 ) . The il. of t h e f i r s t wave is pH - i n d e p e n d e n t . On t h e o t h e r h a n d , t h e il. o f t h e s e c o n d wave are pH-dependent.
