Abstract
1- The l i v e r of early embryo of the domestic pigeon (from 5 - 10 days of incubation ) c o n s i s t s of hepa t i c tubules and hepatic trabeculae. Each hepatic tubule consists 02 fsve to eight hepatocytes arranged r a d i a l l y around a c1ea.r b i l e canalicule. The hepatic trabeculae are two c e l l s - t h i c k , and enclose inbetween i r r e g u l a r blood sinuso5ds. 2- The l i v e r t i s s u e i n t h i s stage consists c h i e f l y of parenchymal c e l l s and a f e w number of mesenchyme c e l l s , The l a t t e r c e l l s are small i n s i z e and have small dense nuclei. They play a major r o l e i n haemopoiesis, 3- A considerable number of parenchymal c e l l s of bhis stage have two d i f f e r e n t nuclei ; the f i r s t represents the nucleus of the l i v e r cell and the other one represents the nucleus of a haemopoietic c e l l , The l a t t e r nucleus is e a s i l y distinguished by its mall s i z e and its dark homogeneous s t a i n a b i l i t y.
