Abstract The thesis comprises three chapters: 1) Clznpter I comprises survey of previous work on azo dyes-metal complexes as well as the polarographic behaviour of azo compounds. A literature survey is also given on 4-aminoantipyrine azo dye metal complexes. 2) Chapter II includes the materials and reagents used as well as the experimental techniques. It comprises details concerning the preparation of various compounds and solutions, instruments used, and working procedures. 3) Chapter 111 includes the results and discussions in three parts: Part one includes: a- The infrared spectra of the investigated ligands were scanned as KBr discs and their characteristic bands were assigned to their vibrational modes. b- The spectral behaviour of azo dyes under investigation was studied in organic solvent of different polarities. The variation in the position of the CT bands in different organic solvents is interpreted and related to the microscopic and macroscopic solvent polarity parameters. |
