Abstract The present work deals with the design and synthesis of some nitrogen bridge heterocyclic ring systems and their reactivity towards different aldehydes, acetic anhydride, active methylene compounds, carbon disulphide, different monosugar moieties and different monohalosugars. The study of different selected substitution in correlation with their spectra and biological activity was also considered. I. 2-Hydrazino-3-phenyl-4(3H)-quinazolinon(1e1) To fulfill this purpose, 2-thiox0-3-phenyl-4(3H)-quinazolino(nIe) w as prepared by different methods. a. Reaction of anthranilic acid with arylisothiocyanate in absolute ethanol. b. Fusion of anthranilic acid with N-aqlthiourea in an oil bath. c. Reaction of anthranilic acid with appropriate aryl amines, carbon disulphide in the presence of potassium hydroxide in absolute ethanol. 2-Hydrazino-3-phenyl-4(3H)-quinazolinon(e11 ) was then prepared by the reaction of 2 -thioxo-3-phenyl-4(3H)-quinazolino(nIe) w ith hydrazine hydrate. 0 0 I n The reaction of 2-hydrazino-3-phenyl-4(3H)-quinazolinon(1e1 ) with different aromatic aldehydes was investigated. |
