Abstract
It may be concluded that the present phenomenological potential model has been successfully applied to A L A S for the elastic scattering of a-particles on light, medium-weight target nuclei. The dependence of the compressibility constant on the mass numbers for the involved nuclei has been arrived. Applications to the elastic scattering of heavy ions lead to a nice correspondence of the differential cross-section to experiment. It reproduced the gross behaviour of the excitation function. The compressibility modulus is also extracted. The results obtained in the present work encourage further studies in A L A S .
