Abstract Insecticides are chemical agents which are now used on a broad scale for agricultural and domestic purposes. The increased use of these chemicals in modern world has led to much greater emphasis on the possibility of environmental contamination with hazards to man and livestock. Dimethoate (organophosphorus insecticide) has possible deleterious effects on the body organs. Thus, the aim of the present work was to study the histological, histochemical and ultrastructural changes that might occur in the renal cortex of adult male albino rats following oral administration of dimethoate in different doses and for different periods. |
