Abstract
In this work ten adult male albino rats of an average weight between 125 and 150 grams were sacr ificed and specimens were taken from different parts of the gastroint estinaltract , from the stomach specimens were dissected from the ante riorwall of the forestomach, the fundus and pyloric regions.Specimens were also taken from the duodenum, jejunum, ileum, proximal and distal colons and appendix . Each s?ecimen was the ndivided into three segments the first rrws fixed in 10% formalin, the second in bouin’s fluid and the third in Reguad’s fluid . For identification of the entero-endocrine cells in the epitheltum of the gastrointe stinaltract , different methods were used which were the chromaffin peaction and its modification using Giemsa stain the argentaffinre action , the argyrophil reaction and the azocoupling secection.
