Abstract It was observe6 that there were few reported histological and histochernicel studies on the effect of denervation acd hormones on the cardiac muscle. Theref ore, the present work zinis to study histologically and histochemically the effectof right vngotorny, thyroxin, estrogen and testosterone on the cardiac muscles of adult male albino rat. The intact heart is regulated to a large extent by the central nervous system through two nerve centres in the floor of the fourth ventricle in the medulla : the cardioinhibitory and the cardio-accelerator centres (~alaat,1965). Armour (1975) and Ham (1979), stated that the heart has both synlpathetic and parasympathetic innervation, but the latter exerts the greater regulatory influence. |
