Abstract The present study aimed at detecting the role of different candida species in causing vaginal candidosis in two groups of women, patient group with signs and symptoms of vagmitis suggesting candidal etiology and in control asymptomatic carrier group. The investigation also aimed to detect any correlation exist between proteinase secretion from different candidal isolates and clinical disease. 50 women, non pregnant, non diabetic, attending the outpatient clinic of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Tanta university Hospital suffering fiom vulvovaginitis most probably due to candidal origin were sampled (patient group) in addition to another 50 asymptomatic women constituting the carrier control group. |
