Abstract The present study was performed in an attempt to evaluate the histological and histochemical alterations that occured in the albino rat’s submandibular salivary gland as a result of oral administration of a low dose of prednisone, an intermediate acting glucocorticoids.TIlls experiment was designed to involve the following groups:Group I: Composed of 15 rats , 10 of them were given orally 1 ml of fresWy prepared prednisone suspension every morning for 45 days; While the’ other 5 rats were served as control. They were received only 1 ml of tap water as placebo. Then the fifteen rats were sacrificed by cervical dislocation. |
