Abstract
Wheat is considered to be the most important cereal crop in the world . Egypt is considered to be a wheat imported country , which it ranked the third among the wheat importers during the last ten years ( Anonymous , 1991 ) . The investigation under study has taken in to consideration three dimensions , pathological studies ; chemical control and physiological studies . The pathol.ogica1 studies is concerned with the genetic control of both leaf and stem rust diseases via physiologic race identification prevalent in north Delta region . The study thr’ew high lights on the effective genes acting against leaf rust isolates and their frequency using 12 wheat monogenic lines ( Lr’s ).
