Abstract
The present ’chesis coxcerns with bha pz spara tion \ of 3-(3-pyridyl)-l-pheny3-2-py1’az03.b-5-one, L by the r e a c t i o n of phsnyl hydrazine wich e thylnico tinylacetabe i n a c e t i c acid* The active rnsthylene group was subjected t o many reactions- Compound (I) was condensed with aroinabio ald&tydes to give 4-aryXidene-3-(3-pyridyl)-1-;3heny5,-2-pyx a zolin- 5-ones IIa-c* Similarly compound (Z) was condensed with ke bones, but in d i f f ezent conditions giving compound LIII a & b). ’I R~
