Abstract
18 albino rat embryos and 141 male albino rats of different ages and weights, divided into 5 groups were used for this study as follows : 1- The prenatal 2- The postnatal 3- The effects of development of pancreas at different ages. development of pancreas at different ages. :- Obligatory starvation. e - Bilateral abdominal vagotomy. - Cortisone, insulin, and alloxan injections. on the adult male albino rat pancreas. The pancreas was divided into two halves, one was fixed by 10% formol- Saline and Bouins fixatives and stained by : Haematoxyline & Eosin, Van Gieson, Herlant, Heidenhien Mallory azan. Modified Gomori aldehyde Fuchsin stains and periodic acid schiff method. The other half cut by the cryostat to study the following enzyme reactions: modified Gomori method for alkaline phosphatase, Gomori method for acid phosphatase. and method for succinic dehydrogenase enzymes.
