Abstract
Prostaglendifi was teatsd for it a pharaaological action in variety of animal prepaxations both in vitro and i n vivo. In vitro PGPZw was tested on the i s o l a t e d rabbit’s intestine, i s o l a t e d tracheal spiral a-bsip of the guinea pig and on rsctua a$bdorninis o f frog, It was t e s t e d i n vivo on . - th~2n C~~catn aesthssizsd dogs and on i n t a c t unans,mjlhcsized rabbits. 1. It was evident that PGF2& has stimulant action on i s o l a t e d rabbits ja jun~m, The dsterrnination of ait G of a c t i o n of PGFZH showed t h a t it act directly on smooth muscles of isola-bed pscparation o f tho inteatine of rabbit. 2, It was establisbsd t h a t PGP ha8 pressor action on 2 &, arbssial blood pressure of dog i n doss of (10 ~gm/Kgm) * body weight, i n which PGF facilitiats reloass of 2* catecholanines f~omad sensrgic nesvG endings, 3. Prostaglandin FZv has also bronchoconstrictor ~f fsct \ on isolatsd tracheal spiral s t r i p of guinea pig, Thia action was shown ”c he direct 6ff6~% on tho ~USC~GS of trachsa, and t h a t broncho c o n s t r i c t o r c ffcct is antngonissd by papaverins. 4. Prostaglandin has no ~ffsct on sklatal musclcs i n which th~dr ug wes tested upon rsctus abdominis mu~clc of frog. 5. Prosteglandin F2% was shown t o produce no s i g n i f i c a n t o:ffec-t. on blood p i c t u r e including exyt hrocytic count and haemoglobin percsntage i n i n t a c t rahbita after . . intravenous adminiatx%%ion of successivs dosew of 6 . Prostaglendin F2wwas shovrn t o produc~ non significant el~vation of blood glucose level i n rabbita.
