Abstract
Ultrasonic imaging of the prostate may be done by transabdominal, perineal, transurethral or transrectal scanning. Today, transrectal imaging of the prostate has become a routine procedure and volume measurement by ultrasound is well established in urologic practice. Also , ultrasound guidance of the puncture biopsy needle has become wide spead.
