Abstract
this work is to study the pulmonary changes in the workers exposed to irritant gases, fumes and dust in the SOCIE’TE MISR pour la RA’fONNE, KAFR EL-DAWAK . The workers in Rayon industry are exposed to different types of respiratory irritants, such as ammonia, sulphur oxides, hydrogen sulphide, carbon disulphide, nitrous oxides, lead fumes and carbon dust . A retrospective study of 120 X-ray chest fil~ns of 120 workers exposed to the different irritation in Rayon industry were obtained from the archives of the Medical Center of SOCIETE MISR pour la RAYONNE . It was found that from the total of 120 cases, only 14 cases were having pulmonary changes, while we got 4 cases of cardiac changes and 4 cases of T.B. fibrotic changes (compiicatlons) . The severlty of the pulmonary changes depends on the duration of exposure as the more exposed the worker, the more severet’ pulmonary changes will occur .
