Abstract
The present study aims to develop proximal gastric vagotomy with mucosal antrectomy as an operative approach to duodenal ulcer.Proximal gastric vagotomy was performed in 13 patients combined with mucosal antrectomy . Mucosal antrectomy was done by excising the antrai mucosa via a circular corpural myotomy.Gastro-duodenal single contrast gastrographine meal with duodenal series were taken postopes~tively before discharge from the hospital 1 for every patient.Radiological pictures proved that gastric emptying of liquids was nearly unaltered.Endoscopy was done for every patient before the operation ( for accurate diagnosis ) and after the operation at 4-6 weeks,Gmonths and one year.
