Abstract In VIew of the increased risk of coron•ary.. artery disease in population, there are many attempts to predict and diagnose the coronary lesion. Our study aims at identification of the presence of coronary artery disease by transesophageal echocardiographic detection of thoracic aortic plaquc, III patients with heart diseases. Out of 4S subjccts rcrtcrcd to ollr cardiolo!:,’Y department, Tanta University Hospital between April and December 1996, all these subjects subjected to careful history analysis in~lllding chest pain complaint and risk factors, clinical examination,Resting electrocardiogram, transthoracic echocardiography,transesophage~l echocardiography, and coronary angiography. There werea patients with valvular heart disease (n = 17), angina (n = 21),cordiomyopathy (n = 5) and hypertensive heart disease (n = 5). |
