Abstract postoperative infection in urology constitutes one of the troublesome problems facing the urologist in his struggle control the disease. The present work touched the question of postoperative infection in urology from different aspects, namely, urinary and wound infections after surgery, urinary infections after endoscopic operation and after visualizing cystoscopy. The incidence, the type of the causative organisms, the possible sources of infection and outline of the management were studied. During the period from 24/9/1981 to 31/3/1982 fifty patients in urology department Tanta University Hospital subjected to different open and c1.sed operations and visualizing cystoscopy and were examined clinically and bacteriologically in detail, prior and after the operations. |
