Abstract Postmenopausal osteoporosis is the singl most importmt health hazard associat with the female climacteric owing to its sequale of fractures and deformities together with their complications.Two main factors are implicated in the aetiology of postmenopausal osteoporosis, firstly the loss of bone with aging, and secondly , the accelerated bone loss associated with postmenopausal oestrogen deprivation. Othex subsidary minor fctors are considered such as dietry calcium deficieny, impaired calcium absorption, and physical inactivity associated with aging. |
