Abstract
The main objective of t h i s work was t o study the inheritance of boll non-dehiscence, the reaction range and the mode of cction of the genotype of t h i s phenomenon, For t h i s purpose, five local var3eties namely Giza 45, Gizc 67, Giza 68, Giza 70 Giza 74 in addition to the Russian variety C 6022 mre used, The germplasm was supplied by the Cotton Research Ins-liitute, Egpgtian Enistry of Agriculture. The experiments were run at the farm of Sakhs Agricultural Research Station at Kafr El-Sheikh Governorde, during the years 1976-1979, For the accomplishment of t h i s study two crosses were made namely, 1 = 7 Giza 67 X FGizz 45 and 2 = $ C6022 X 2Giza 74. The parents, F1 F 9 Bc2 were used f o r the analysis. Foliar sprq a t flower bud i n i t i a t i o n with G Aj on the varieties Giza 68 ~nd Giza 70.
