Abstract

In the academic year 1994/1995, EFL was included within the primary fourth year curriculum. In order to achieve the objectives of teaching EFL in primary stage, the Egyptian Ministry of Education selected the course Hello! Primary English to be taught at this stage.Because of the remarkable shortage in EFL specialist teachers, teaching EFL in most of primary schools is assigned to non-specialist teachers with modest linguistic and pedagogical abilities. Even there are a few EFL specialist teachers in some primary schools, yet their TEFL experience is fundamentally oriented to post-primary stage learners.Ideally, teachers as such might hold fast their TG 1 as a solid supporter to them. Strikingly, most of them admitted that they could not make good use of their TG I since they were unable to read or/and to understand its content.
