Abstract Patients presenting with a right iliac fossa mass are a clinical diagnostic puzzle. Frequentily, these patients have aseries of investigations including barium enema and intravenous urography, which are often inconclusive. When a right iliac fossa mass is palpable it should be demonstrable by ultrasound and therefore it should be possible to assess its organ of origin. and its nature. Conversely. a normal ultrasound may exclude a lesion and prevent further unnecessary imaging. particularly if involving ionizing radiation. This study was carried out on 38 patients clinically presented with a right iliac fossa mass, and referred to Radiology Department at Tanta University Hospitals. The patients in this study were 21 males and 17 females and their ages ranged from 5 to 62 years. |
