Abstract
The present hvestSgation was cariticd out to study the gene tf c variability among seven sorghum pa~ents designated a3 F1 and I?* generations of diallel crosses system, the amount of h e t e r o s i s Tor green cand dry fodder yield and some other t r a i t s , =and also generd ,and s p e c i f i c combining ability f o r the parents and their different dlallel crosses in the F1 and F2 generation under two plmting systems. This investigation was conducted at Szkha AgriculturaS Research Station Farm during 1976, 1977 and 1978 seasons. The scheme field working md statisticcd procedures were conducted as follow: 1- The materia2s under study consisted of f9ve genetically diverse inbred lines md two local varieties their were as following : qweet sorghum Gize 1 (P7). 2- Diallel crosses were carried out among the seven parents by handily emasculation and p o l l i n a t i o n in summer of 1976
