Abstract the preaent stddy wad t6 dhdy hdterosid md eombhdng ability (gi CA a, ah8 si C. o.) &d their interaction with the change ifi environmental dofidiiicni8 of six varieties of Egyptian cotton for some agronomic and fiber properties. The investigation was carried out at Sokha Agricultural Research Station in 1376, 1977 snd 1978 seasons. Six v~rietieso f cot ton and their disllel cros s were eva3.l.ifed under four different environments; two plant densities, 35000 (Dl) and 70000 (Dp) plcnts per faddan and two nitrogen levels, 35 Kg, hJ (IT1) and 70 Kg 11. (IT2) per faddan. SiX parental cultivars or lines namely; G. 45, hIenoufi, G. 69, G. 67 G. GG and Ashmouni, representi2g wide range of vmia b i l i t y in most of $he studied t r a i t s , were utilized. Cros-. sixg among the parental materials by means of diallel system was initiated at 1376 aeason. In 1977 md 1973 seasons, four experiments were desibmed in a randomized complete block with three replications t o evalute the six parental lines and their possible fifteen PI hybrids. 1- One plant per h i l l + 35 Iig X/faddan (Dl B1) 2- One plmt per h i l l + 70 Kg U/faddan (Dl Xi2) 3- Dio plants per h i l l + 35 Ice; I$//faddan(DZ 3) 4- Two plants per h i l l + 70 Kg J/faddan(D2 XI,&) Nitrogen f e r t i l i z e r s were added i n two pa r t s -2 after 1 3 thinning and - before the second irrigation. |
