Abstract
The experimental data were obtained from” The production co - operation committee broiler farm for the employees of Misr Spinning Company at El-Mehalla El-Kobra ” during two years period from 1980 to 1982. One hundred and eleven batchs of 592931 chicks were employed for the present experiment . Body weights , growth rates , feed consumption and feed conversion ,density of bird per unit of floor area during the summer and winter were the criteria of the experiment. Body weight and feed conversion were better in winter than in summer in specific time of raising (50 days of age) • When aensity was concerned , body weight was nearly similar in the three densities studied , However body weight was better in winter than in summer. Feed conversion was slightly superior for the third density , the three densities were 9.4-9.7 ; 9.7-10.0 and 10.0-10.3 birds / m2 while feed conversions were 2.34 ;2.41 and 2.30 respectively • However}feed conversion was better in winter than in summer 2.299 and 2.407 respective. When cost of Kg broiler product was calculated , it was found, 0.850 and 0.776 £.E. in summer and winter respectively.
