Abstract Urinary diversion or bladder substitution is an integral part of cyst.ectomy procedure. The popular methods of urinary diversion as early as the begining of the century (ureterosigmoidostomy) and by the mjddle of the same century (Ileal conduit) were observed to be associated with high rate of renal destruction. Beside the functional failures, problems associating the appliance requiring procedures start to appear. These problems destroyed the patient psychologic, social and sexual life.In the era of development of continent urinary diversions the previously mentioned complications were tried to be obviated. In 1987,Ghoneim and his associates utilized the hemiKock Pouch with nipple valve as an alternative modality for orthotopic bladder substitution.Recently, Abol-Enein and Ghoneim (1994) proposed a new antireflux ureteroileal reimplantation technique of the serous lined extra-mural tunnel into an ileal W neo-bladder. |
