Abstract This disertation covers studying t h e e f f e c t of i r r i g a t i o n regimes, number of p l a n t s per u n i t area and ni-Grogen l e v e l s on cotton growth, y i e l d and y i e l d oomponents, To a t t a i n a max~immn water use efficiency is one of most important purposes of t h i s study. F i e l d work and l a b o r a t o r y techniques were c a r r i e d out at Sakha A g r i c u l t u r a l Research Station through 1975 and 1976 seasons, The selected areas were studied t o determine the s o i l bulk density, f i e l d capacity and permanent wilting point. Egmtian cotton Giza 67 v a r i e t y (Gossypiurn barbadense L.) was planted on March 21, 1975 and on March 31 , 1976. All cul kral practices-except f a c t o r s under study- -- were c a r r i e d out as cornrnm pract-ices i n the area. The experimental design was s p l i t - s p l i t p l o t w i t h six replicates. The main p l o t s were randomly assigned t o three i r r i g a t i o n regimes, the sub-plots t o the population d e n s i t i e s and sub-sub p l o t s t o the three nitrogen l e v e l s . |
