Abstract
The experiment reported was carried out at llahalet Mousa Experiment Station Animal Production Resea~ch I n s t i t u t e , Minis try of Agriculture , Egypt. The aim of the work was t o study the effect of f i s h meal as a source of animal protein in early weaned lamb’s ration on the performance of male and female Rahmani and Cfssimi lambs. Fish meal was included in the concentrate mixfFurcs at rates of 3 and 5%. It was also intendsd t o study the effac5 of system of feeding on mortality r a t e , carcass chx:ac t e r i s t i c s and chemical ctomposition of meat. Live weight of lambs was measured weekly and the nutritional value of the different concentrate mixtures was also determined in a d i g e s t i b i l i t y tsail. When the lambs reached the market weight of abouk (35-40 kgs .) , 6 male lambs from each group (3 Gssimi and 3 Rahml) were slaughtered. The number of 120 lambs, 60 Rahnaizi, and 6C Cssimi born during March 1976 were chosen from the flock of the above station, and divided into five groups similm in number of Cssimi and Rahmani, sex, weight and age.
