Abstract Doppler tissue imaging a new echocardiographic application recently developed for clinical use, has made possible the acquisition of myocardial wall velocities on line during echocardiographic examination. Myocardial velocities may be depicted as a color scale for 2-D or M-mode imaging called color coded DTI, or as a pulsed wave Doppler tissue (PWD-TI), recording by positioning the sample volume within the myocardial region of interest. Direct determination of myocardial velocities may be a more sensitive index of myocardial performance. Recently, Doppler tissue imaging has emerged as a new non invasive imaging modality that allows direct online measurement of myocardial velocities throughout the cardiac cycle . the aim of this work is to evaluate the pattern of left ventricular relaxation through assessing the velocity of mitral annulus motion during diastole by Doppler tissue imaging @TI) as a new non invasive technique. |
