Abstract In this study, we intended to emphasized the accuracy of cranial sonography in diagnosing, grading, detecting the level and the cause of obstruction in hydrocephalus comparing to CT examination.In the course of our work we have described gross, sonographic and CT anatomy of the ventricular system of the brain, the physiology of CSF the pathology and causes of hydrocephalus.The study was conducted on 94 infants were referred because of suspecion of hydrocephalus from pediatric and Neurosurgery department in Tanta University Hospital. Their ages ranged from one month to 2 years. All cases were subjected to clinical examination with particular stress in nervous system and sonograp hic examination of the brain CT examination were performed only in 70 patients of intracranial abnormalities diagnosed by ultrasound. |
