Abstract
The present study has been done to evaluate the effectivemss of a new oral therapy, ketoconazole (Niz o r a l ) versus local one, Tioconaz ole (Gyno-Trosyd) and their combined administration for the treatment of patients with vulvovaginal candidiasis .80 patients have been used for this study. The first group included 20 patients without symptomatic complaint of any vaginal infection and no treatment wa given, this group was selected to study the incidence of vaginal colonization with Candida. The other pat.ie.nts (60) were divided into three qual , groups ( I I , I I I , I V ) . Their ages ranged from 20 t o 50 years, non pregnant with clinical symptoms of vulvovaginal candidiw is. Group I1 included 20 patients treated with Eocqnaole group I11 included 20 patients recieved ketoconazole while the patients of group IV recieved combined therapy (Ketoconazole and Sioconazole )at the same period of treatment.
