Abstract The aim of this work was to study some ventilatory functions and to assess pulmonary diffusing capacity using single breath technique in patients with COPD and asthma. The work was conducted on 30 subjects who were classified into 3 groups: i Group I: included 10 healthy non smoking subjects. I Group 11: included 10 patients of bronchial asthma. Group 111: included 10 patients with COPD. The ventilatory and diffusion function tests were done for every subject by using Morgan’s transfer test (England Model) apparatus with Della 320 computer. On comparing the mean values of % of predicted of FVC. FEV,. FEF 25-75. FEF,, and PEFR in the three groups thev were significantly lower in asthma and COPD groups than control group and significantly lower in COPD group as compared to asthma group. |
