Abstract Two experiments were carried out in Faculty of Agriculture Farm at Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanlta University, Egypt during two mccessive seasons 1981 and 1982.The objective of this in vestigaion is to compare the productivity and fiber qu a lity of introduced and local flax cult ivars at different rates of seeding and N A split-split plot design was used where the three cultivrs , i.e., Giza local ) , Hera and Natasja ( intro-duced) were randomly allocated to the m ain plots , seeding rate (40, 60 and 80 kg/faddan) to the sub-plots and nitrogen levels (0, 30 and 60 kg/faddan) to the sub sub-plots.The pl ot size was 3 x 2 m ( i . e . , -1 faddan) . The nitrogen used was in form of ammonih nitrate (31 % N) applied before the first irrigation . Growth analysis determinations were studied on five growth stages ,i.e . , 57, 78, 99, 120and 155 days from p l a n t i n k , whereas yield and quality determined at mature stage. |
