Abstract Fishes has a high nutritional values as they help in solving protein shortage problem mainly for low income class as they are of low price. Fishes are exposed to pollution from different sources starting from breeding area to last phase of consumption, so they have danger on consumers health, the thesis dealt with this in two parts : Part 1: Survey for the range of pollution of fishes in Manzala lake to know the main cause of pollution mainly for tilapia nilotica fish that the study was carried on as it was the most prevalent type in the lake. Samples was collected from fall of the health sewage of Port Said at Bahr EI-Bakar area on different dimensions from the fall (from fall, 1 km, 5 km, 10 km and 20 km inside the lake), also samples were taken from both water and the fishes in all these areas. The following microbiological tests were done on water and fishes samples: 1- Total bacterial count. 2- Aerobic spore forming bacterial count. 3- Staphylococcus aureus count. 4- Coliform bacterial count. 5- Psychrophylic bacterial count |
