Abstract This study aimed to determine 1) the effect of selective antibiotic treatment on pregnancy rate in repeat breeder dairy cows. 2) The effect of GnRH injection given at the time of insemination as well as the effect of double insemination in repeat breeder cows. Animals were classified into 4 groups according to their treatment into control, Gentamycin and Enrofloxacin, GnRH and double insemination groups. The cows were inseminated with proven frozen semen. Pregnancy diagnoses were performed on day 30-35 using ultrasonography and confirmed at 45 days by rectal palpation. The results of this study revealed that, the first service conception rate of GnRH group (72.72%) differs significantly with Enrofloxacin group (20 %) and Gentamicin group (40%). Control group (46.66%) differs significantly with Enrofloxacin group (20%). Also, Enrofloxacin group (20%) was significantly different with double insemination group (40%). |
