Abstract Aromatic plants occupy a. prominent economical position for the continuous demand for their volatile products inported from foreign markets. Pelargonium grnveolens L. is one of the most important aromatic plants which belongs to family Geraniaceae. This work was carried out to study the effect of kinetin, gamma radiation. interaction (Kinetin followed by gamma radiation) and interaction (gamma radiation followed by Kinetin) on geranium growth, oil production and lea! anatomy. Pelargonui graveolens L. plant is grown outdoors under Egyptian climatic conditions. Kinetin was applied ns a foliar spray at JO, 60 un~ 90 ppm. Whereas gnmma rays was irradiated at 300, 600 and 900 rad. To study Kinetin-gamma rays interaction, cuttings were sprayed with kinetin at 30, 60 and 90 ppm. and every concentration of kinetin treated cuttings was irradiated with three gamma rays doses at 300, 600 and 900 rad. The same tend to study gamma rays-kinetin interaction, cuttings wore irradiated with gamma rays at 300, 600. and 900 rad and every dose of gamma rays irradiated cuttings was sprayed with the tree kinetin concentration at 30, 60 and 90 ppm. Different treatments which were mentioned previously were carried out during two sussive seasons of 1984 and 1985 . Data were taken for plant height , leaf area, fresh weight of leaves and geranium oil components by GLC analysis . |
