Abstract E-learning is a means of education that incorporates self-motivation, communication, efficiency, and technology. The isolation intrinsic to E-learning requires students to communicate with each other and with the instructor frequently to accomplish their assigned tasks. There are many challenges for implementing e-learning such as an E-assessment for evaluating questions, exams and students. The assessment is one of the basic tasks of the educational work. This is done in education based in e-learning systems more than in traditional education. For the student, the evaluation is the moment for verifying the acquired knowledge in the learning process. The evaluation process allows the student to compare the reached knowledge with the expected one in the formative action and thus to determine if the objectives have been achieved correctly. Questions, tasks, activities and other methods of student responses are often called items in the assessment process. In this research, the E-assessment framework shows how the instructor create the exam and how the student response to the exams and how data mining techniques can be used to analyze the responses of students and get the resulting scores to provide an accurate and a real assessment for instructor and students. The theories that were used in educational data mining can help in the assessment process. There are different techniques can be used for classifying students, questions and exams such as statistics, neural network , fuzzy system and neuro fuzzy system that can implement the suitable techniques for each part of assessment process. The comparison was set between these techniques to choose the best one. The case study is implemented on first year students of faculty of pharmacy in Mansoura university. The analysis of the scores of the students’ responses leads to make a feedback for both student and instructor. |
