Abstract
The design and performance of the normal and gridded streamer counters are investigated and discussed. In case of multi-wire plane counters, investigations were made on the counting characteristics in relation to their dependance on the inter-wire separation, the number of anode wires, the electrode separation and the anode applied voltage.the sensitivity of the wire pale atreament counters was examined when a very narrow collimated heam of alpha-particles was moved.
