Abstract

The present investigation was designed to test some components of natural food to resist aflatoxicosis so it has been testing this work on the experimental animals ”rats”. Treated rats were fed on 50 ppb AFB1 with or without 200 gm honey/kg diet and others were fed on50 ppb AFB1 with or without 20 gm curcumin/kg diet. Honey bee Egyptian clover act as a component of diet is resistant to fungal growth and antioxidant to resist poisoning aflatoxicosis. Turmeric yellow; a herbal medicinal plant commonly used in medicine the liver which works as an antidote to oxidize radicals. Rats were sacrificed after 6-weeks of treatment followed by 2-weeks withdrawal period. Performance, biochemical parameters, and histopathological changes were tested for the liver function in all rats. The results were summarized as: 1-Aflatoxin B1 is hepatotoxic and this toxicity is: -Decrease in the body weight, body weight gain, leucocyte count, serum ALT & AST levels, serum albumin, A/G ratio, T.lipids, and cholesterol concentrations. -Increase in the relative weight of (liver, kidney, and heart), ALP level, seum T. bilirubin concentration, and glucose content. -Aflatoxin B1cause histopathological findings (focal necrosis, adenoma, granuloma, and widening in portal tracts). 2-Addition of honey to aflatoxicated diet ameliorated the effect on the histopathological examination of liver, growth performance (body weight, body weight gain, relative weight of liver, kidney, and heart), and some biochemical parameters (serum AST levels, T. bilirubin, and A/G ratio). 3-Addition of CCM to aflatoxicated diet ameliorated the effect on the histopathological examination of liver, growth performance (body weight, relative weight of liver and heart), and some biochemical parameters (serum ALT and AST levels, T. bilirubin, albumin and, A/G ratio). 4-Of the most food observations that feed by honey or CCM alone was healthy. The major recommendation is the potency to use honey instead of sugar and its derivatives or/and CCM food additive for many of the most important and baked a loaf of bread to protect us against toxicity of aflatoxins.
