Abstract
Aim of study: the purpose of this study was to evaluate the dentoskeletal effects of Modified Maxillary Splint With Headgear in growing Class II division 1 cases. Material and method: sixteen female patients with Class Division 1 malocclusion were selected for this study. The mean age of the patients was 10 years 1 months. Cephalometric radiographs and plaster study models were made at two stages; before and after treatment by the Modified Maxillary Splint With Headgear. Statistical t-paired test was done to determine the significant difference between the pretreatment and posttreatment measurements. Results: The SNA angle was significantly decreased (P = .000). The SNB angle was significantly increased (P = .041). The ANB angle was significantly decreased (P = .000). Modified Maxillary Splint appliance could be used successfully in treatment of Class II Division 1 malocclusion cases.
