Abstract
A number of some new 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives were synthesized. The structures of all of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by their spectral and analytical data; IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra which all agreed with the assigned structures. The prepared compounds were tested for their antioxidant, cytotoxicity, and antitumor activity. They displayed significant antioxidant and anticancer activities against HepG2 (human hepatocellular liver carcinoma cell line), WI 38 (skin carcinoma cell lines), VERO (cell line was initiated from the kidney of a normal adult African green monkey), MCF-7 (breast cancer cell lines).
